Wow, Josh, how profoundly sad, and touching that you shared that with all of us. Thank you, again, for your courage. I hope you’re getting lots of hugs these days.

I just said to my husband David, "Josh Kornbluth makes me laugh and cry." I've never tried eye push-ups, but I'm pretty sure all this laughing and crying is good medicine for the eyes, the belly, the heart and soul. Thank you.

Really enjoyed your story Josh. I was born cross-eyed, aka strabismus. I had surgery when I was a year and a half old but they didn’t correct it fully, so I don’t have real depth perception because I don’t have full convergence on an object. Despite that, I became a good tennis player. I was a ranked player at the age of 12. I learned from an eye specialist at Columbia, about 15 years ago that I learned distance my own way, and if they tried to correct it surgically now it would invariably cause double vision, because my brain over learned how to perceive distance due to my intense sports activity. I tell you this because playing tennis was one of the most important ways I had to get my father’s attention and to feel that special bond. He was a busy guy and had his own insecurities that I wasn’t aware of but when he watched, I could feel the power of it.

I’m sorry you didn’t have more time with your father but I’m glad that you aren’t blaming yourself for the loss anymore. If he’d still be around, he’d be proud of you in the only way he knew how. For our own well-being, we need to take up the slack where our fathers have deficits.

Thanks for being so vulnerable 🙏🏼
