In all the reflection and analysis of Week #16 of the Liquid Diet saga, I have to admit a bit of wit that brought me way too much joy was, "To slightly misquote the late Richard Nixon, I’m not a cook." Hurrah for your discipline! Thanks for the fine storytelling!

It's interesting - I also deal with overeating issues, and use a diet technique from my daughter. Not to blow yours, but hers is: eat (xx) calories/day. For me, it's 1800. However, when I start(ed) my diet, 2 years ago, I began at 2800 so I would not feel deprived. Then, I went to 2200 and now 1800. It's amazing how few meals I get to eat - mainly one large meal around lunch time, and then some veggies and fruits for the rest of the day. But, my mind focuses on many other things these days besides food! Thanks for the inspiration, Josh!

I try to not give my unasked for advice, but I can't help it. I'm repeating myself, but here goes:

As every gardener knows, "Nature abhors a vacuum." So if you feel a sort of vacuum at meal times,

dotted lines around missing "comfort food" that ain't there now--put something else there! I mean,

in place of foodfoodfood, some other comforting thing, something pleasurable in place of that

mashed "love" no longer heaped on your plate. I dunno--reading? music? Well, I cheated, tried

to slip in some advice, as if I knew anything. You're on the right track, bub. maintain, joe
