So great, Josh, and many thanks for sharing the Nirvana video - a group I've heard of, but in keeping with my "uncool status" as a classical musician have managed to not check out, until now! Thanks for expanding my "cool" factor by a bit...and very clever of Sara to realize all you needed to stay on the path was Kibosh Squash! Congratulations, RTSO Sara

Are you allowed to take fiber pills on this plan? Because those Metamucil knockoff psyllium husk powder pills have changed my life! (As my wife's dad said when he converted me, "going to the bathroom is fun again!")

Ian, if you look carefully, you'll see that Kibosh Squash is resting atop a huge container of real-life Metamucil! (Well, you can just see the orange lid.) 'Mucil (as we call it in this household) has been my trusted morning companion for decades now!

OK good to know! (Your task seems even more impressive now that I know Big M is already involved!)

Consumer scales are rarely accurate but you have to believe. You're on the way to successful weight loss.

And some time soon you can get even with Mr. Squash and cook him for a delicious reward.

During a serious weight loss campaign it's easy to get hung up on every 0.1 pound. Often loss is step-wise, weigh 247 for three days and then it's 245 for the next three. You're on a kamikaze plan but it's working, with serious alterations to brain chemistry to boot. It's good!

Hang in there Josh. You’re still on a downward trajectory and that’s the best part🏆

I LOL'd at you buying a new scale, then again at the squash and yet again at the dog photo :-D

FWIW, though my bathroom scale also displays tenths of pounds, I round up or down to the nearest pound when recording my weight, for these reasons:

- Consumer-grade bathroom scales are not likely accurate enough to measure with that level of precision

- Weight can vary by half a pound or more based on hydration and whether you've removed your "digestive byproducts" (as you note)

- Weight change of less than pound is not really medically meaningful to a non-anorexic adult of average-or-greater height (though it can be psychologically meaningful, as you note!)

Regardless, my personal goal is to lose an average of 1-2 lbs per week, and keep it off permanently. I too get disappointed when the scale doesn't move for a week, but I keep the greater goal in mind: Not just weight loss, but improved health overall.

Best of luck to you.
