Yikes, Kevin -- so sorry that you had that devastating thing happen to you!! (You were looking good at The Marsh!) Thanks so much for your kind encouragement!!
I can relate to being beaten by octogenarians; that happened regularly when I was competing in races with the DSE Running Club. Like you, I haven't done that strenuous a level of physical activity in some time, and like you, I hope to resume doing so once I've lost some more weight!
That's the Bengsons - a husband-and-wife group. My wife and I saw them in concert on Sunday, and they were amazing (plus we cried a lot). Here's another great one: https://youtu.be/76O76Sft580?si=7b_9_5EVvyQpsW4R.

Hey Josh! You, Mr. Citizen Brain, saying No! to your brain? Apparently it works; and what would your mentor Dr Bruce say? :-)
Meanwhile, back in my youthful biking days (before lyme), found that Spruce was the easiest way up to the hills, regardless of where you were in Berkeley. I was very proud of myself when I made it up Claremont once, but I'd take easy over accomplishment/feeling proud any day. Do you have to wait until February to bike up to the hills? If you can bike across SF you can get up to Inspiration Pt again.
Yes, Spruce is the way I start up to Inspiration Point. It has the added nostalgic benefit of taking me past our son's old elementary school. ... I think I _will_ probably try that ride again before I finish my diet - but I'm entranced by the idea of doing it when I've lost the maximum weight!
Well, "liquid diet" is a misnomer. Turns out we also have the option of several flavors of bars and soups (though I guess soups are liquid too?). But it still does end up being mostly these little shakes.
What is your objection to trying Ozempic? Lose weight, cravings, and improved cardiac health! But you already know that. Congrats on your progress to date. Impressive!
Thanks, Marc!! I've no objection to anyone using drugs like Ozempic. I'd already applied to this liquid-diet program before I became aware of those drugs. But in any case, I'd prefer to do it this way: I'm working not only on losing the weight, but also on changing my habits of eating (and of other things), so I can effectively keep the weight off when I get back to regular food.
Go Josh GO!!!
Fab. On December 11th, the consequences of cheating on my diet manifested in a stroke, and I was 190.
Down to 155. You can do this. Good on you!

Nancy Reagan would be proud.
That's all I've ever wanted.

I loved the “ Keep Going On Song” from youtube.

Ah, yes. Marking milestones! May it come to be. :-)
I could never do liquid only...You're a better human than I am....

Josh! You are so close to One-derland! Bet you make it next week! We’re all so proud of you. It is not easy.
